Clear aligners are a modern alternative to traditional braces that straighten your teeth using a series of custom-made, nearly invisible trays. They're removable, comfortable, and fit discreetly into adult and teen lifestyles. At Laytonsville Family Dentistry, our dentists use digital dentistry to plan every step before your first aligner is made.
We begin with a digital scan of your teeth — no messy impression trays. That scan is used to design your full treatment plan, so you can often preview the projected result before you start. You'll then receive a series of aligners, wearing each set for about one to two weeks before moving to the next. Each tray shifts your teeth slightly closer to their final position.
Clear aligners treat many common concerns: crowding, gaps, and mild to moderate bite issues. During your consultation, your dentist will examine your teeth and bite and let you know honestly whether aligners are the best option for your goals, or whether another approach would serve you better.
For the best results, aligners should be worn 20 to 22 hours a day and removed only to eat and clean your teeth. Because they're removable, you keep brushing and flossing normally — which makes them easier to keep clean than braces. We'll guide you through care and check your progress at regular, short visits.
Because your aligner treatment is handled in the same office as your cleanings, fillings, and any other care, everything stays coordinated. Our experience with digital dentistry means precise planning and a comfortable, predictable experience from your first scan to your final, straighter smile.
